My life has been spent in Cantabria. I was born in Carasa and now I live in El Astillero. I am retired, enjoying the best time of my life. To be able to do what interests you and to have your own time is wonderful. I like hiking, the contact with nature gives me energy. I also like to read, learn new things, be aware of what is going on in society. I really enjoy meetings, parties and chats with my family and friends. I am concerned about the drift this capitalist society is taking: loss of rights, increasing inequality, climate change, wars, racism, etc. In my working life, 42 years in a small company of industrial electrical installations, I have done everything that can be done in the administration of the same. That has allowed me to adapt to the digital world as I went along.
This project has enriched me. I have had to reflect on my life and remember what I have lived through. It has confirmed to me that the exchange of experiences and ideas between the different generations and cultures that make up society is very important. It has helped me to continue trusting in the younger generations. I have seen their involvement in a society more committed to human rights.
I decided to participate in this project, first of all, because of who Palmar Alvarez was proposing it. Secondly, I found it very interesting to be able to talk with young people from different cultures who are studying about our culture and give them my personal experience about it. What we study is a part of history, the one they have decided to tell us. Our life is unique, the time and the events are the same, but the circumstances are particular to each one and make it different. Sharing is always an enriching experience for me. Doing it with young people eager to know is magnificent. I encourage you to try it.
