I was born and have always lived in Santander. I have been a family doctor for 38 years, most of them in rural areas. I am very curious since I was a child, so I have many interests: literature, photography, traveling, neuroscience, walking, nature, music, meeting new places and people.
I have participated in this project during the 2024/25 academic year. It has served me mainly to break down prejudices: as we all belong to the human species, when human issues are addressed (this year it was consumption, experience of the profession, retirement, aging …) and there is willingness and encouragement on both sides to listen to each other and understand each other, there can only be good communication and reciprocal learning.
It has also helped me to revisit my own biography A ser educadora from the humility that a young American is teaching me too
And a dose of hope, very intelligent, open-minded young people, who in many cases, do not have or have had hardly any contact with their elders or, if they have had it, do not talk about these issues with them (we do not do it here either, we are not so different…).
In short, a different, enriching and very satisfactory experience.
