I was born in Cantabria in a small town where the main activity was agriculture and livestock. I am a nurse and I am retired. Before studying my career I worked in the food and textile industry. I have two children born in Holland, where I lived and worked for eight years. I enjoy music, reading, theater, traveling and hiking. I am concerned about ageism, inequality, violence and racism that invades us. Politics is another issue that attracts me and at the same time I am outraged that there are so many dishonest politicians.

I joined the program in the 2023-24 academic year and I did so after meeting the protagonist of the program, Palmar. At first I was afraid I wouldn’t be up to the task – college students, Americans! I soon realized how easy it was to communicate with them and how good they made me feel. Remembering and reliving past life situations, of shortcomings, limitations, frustrations and dreams, some of which I was able to see come true. Each meeting, regardless of the subject, has been for me like a dose of self-esteem, also a lot of emotion when you see that your experiences interest them and they ask you with so much respect and education. The same when you receive the evaluations that the students elaborate after the meetings. Being a co-educator without having any training in the subject, makes me learn more than teaching. Getting to know the other co-educators is another aspect that I love.

That is why I encourage others to join the project. I am convinced that they will not regret it. It is such an inspiring and exciting project, that you will be hooked from the beginning.
