Mochales L\u00f3pez"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"gmail-s2\">I was born 63 years ago in a small town in the province of Cuenca.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>4 years later, my parents decided that we should go to Valencia in search of<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>of a better life.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>At birth with vision problems<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>and in those times the<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>special education as the only option<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>for the blind,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>I attended elementary school and high school<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>in different boarding schools in Valencia, Alicante and Madrid.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>For work reasons I came to Cantabria 38 years ago,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>where I currently reside, except for 3 years I lived in the Canary Islands.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>After living in so many places, I have no attachment to any place and I wouldn&#8217;t mind if life takes me anywhere else.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>corner of the orb.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>I am married and have a son and a granddaughter.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>I studied psychology at the University of Valencia and later took a training course in therapy.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>Gestalt.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>Among other jobs, I have the privilege, because it&#8217;s what I&#8217;ve wanted since I was a teenager,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>of having developed my professional activity as a psychologist in the fields of clinical psychology and social intervention.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-s2\">When I entered the Internet world, back in the late 90&#8217;s, I realized how much technology could contribute to blind people, so, along with other colleagues, I created the association UTLAI (Users of Tiflotechnology for Free Access to Information), from which we made a digital magazine and user meetings in different cities of Spain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-s2\">25 years ago<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>I met the Forum<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>from<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>Independent Living<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>y<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>Have fun<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>(FVID)<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>and assumed<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>an important change in my way of seeing and dealing with<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>the disability<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>and my reality, feeling since then like an activist.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>for the rights of people discriminated against because they operate differently.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>Being aware of how much remains to be done to break down prejudices and stereotypes,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>I am determined to do what is in my power<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>for<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>delete<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>the obstacles<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>that impede the inclusion of people with functional diversity, not only because it is a question of rights,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>if not<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>because I am convinced that diversity<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>enriches us all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-s2\">Retirement<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>is allowing me to continue learning and enjoying<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>music, reading, hiking, traveling<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>and the new friends I have met in the development of these activities.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>Also to have launched the project:<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/hablemosdeceguera.com\/\"><span class=\"gmail-s3\">http:\/\/hablemosdeceguera.com<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-s2\">I joined the Shared Memories project two years ago.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>It has given me the opportunity to meet people from realities very different from mine,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>both in terms of age and culture.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>I found it very interesting to be able to<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>expose and<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>share my ideas and experiences, as well as the<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>hear about<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>like<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>live.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>Topics covered<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>in these courses,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>both for the<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>contents<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>as well as for the depth and focus<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>with which they have been<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>developed, they have seemed to me<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>very enriching and<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>have taken me<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>to think about<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>on my own<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>conceptions,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>If it hadn&#8217;t been for this, maybe I wouldn&#8217;t have<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>had the opportunity to<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>review them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-s2\">I would encourage people who may consider joining<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>this initiative by telling them that it is an experience that takes you out of your comfort zone<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>by giving you the opportunity to review, expose<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>and give away your own life experience and that allows you to learn from people who are in a very different situation<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>and reality<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>vital<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>than yours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-s2\">I choose to be<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>coeducator<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>because I believe that society needs<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>that we go beyond the categories that pigeonhole<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>and distance us.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>Experiences are individual, but by sharing them, we can learn,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>as long as we are willing to value<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>and take into account<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>the other, even<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>ourselves.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>Maybe this will reduce ageism,<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>capacitism, sexism and so many other isms<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>that impoverish us
